Clinical Somatic Movement Education sessions
In a Clinical Somatic Movement Education session you will be guided and assisted through a range of movements that will help you release the chronic tight muscles that are relevant to your issues. These movements will make you aware of where you are holding in your body and how you can change this. These sessions are about you making the changes yourself, you will be gently active and paying attention to what is happening. They are not about me fixing you rather about me educating and guiding you to help yourself. You will be given a small self-care programme of specific movements to practice daily.
What to expect!
Sessions are 60 to 75 minutes. The first session is the longest as we explore history, goals and assessment. The movements are done gently, without any real exertion and within your comfortable range of movement on a low padded table. There is no skill level required, anyone and everyone can do them and find benefit. It is ideal to wear long pants such as a track pant and a long sleeve top or T-shirt.
How many sessions?
It is recommended to have a minimum of 3 clinical sessions approximately a week apart by which stage you should be experiencing improvement. NB: 6 sessions is more the norm.
How much?
$60 per session which includes audio recordings of your self-care movements.
